Lauren
Introduction Hey whats up people. My name is Lauren. A little about myself. I'm 14 years old. I live in Northern California. I have long curly brown hair, big brown eyes, and I'm 5'3. I live in the middle of nowhere. There is not much to do here. But things I like to do, is go to movies, swim, hanging out with friends, and listen to music. I like all music. Except country. That should be banned. In my opinion Spandex and Country music should be banned. But that's only me.:). I am probably the weirdest type of people you'll ever meet. I'm a very energetic person and I'm always laughing. Laughter is the best medicine. I'm one of those people who'll even laugh at their own jokes. Which is very pathetic. I am a agnostic. I don't believe in god, but I still believe that there is something greater then us we don't know about. Sometimes I think we're all in a coma right now and we're waiting to wake up. What a good plot for a novel.:). haha. I love animals. I especially love cats. Every neighborhood has the insane old lady with a lot of cats. I imagine myself being that old lady. Or that old Lady on the Got Milk? Commercial you gets killed by all her cats and she doesn't have any milk. That is my destiny. A lot of the time, like right now, I talk about nothing. Because I always try to prevent akward silence. I don't like silence. It makes me uneasy. More about me. There are few places in this state that I like. Believe me I've been to them all. My most favorite city is the city by the bay. aka San Francisco. I lived in San Francisco 12 years ago but I was only 2 then so I do not remember. I love San Francisco because of it's diversity. Where I live everyone is white. I use this story all the time. Once my mom and I were in a small doughnut shop in the Richmond District of San Francisco. There were about 5 other pairs of people. Each pair of people were speaking a different language. That's what I love. Different people. 12 years of all what people it gets boring and plain. There is only one black girl at my school. I'm big on diversity. I love the beach. I love the feeling of sand bewteen my toes. My favorite beach is Estero beach in Baja California. I love Ensenda. My dream is to own a beach house in Ensenda. It is warm there all year long. I don't like winters. My favorite Holiday is Christmas. Even though I don't believe in god or Jesus I still celabrate it with my family. I don't like it because of the gifts, I like it because of the closeness I feel in my family. I love my family. Well let's see whatelse there is about me. I love the color Maroon. I think it's so pretty. Well onto another section of my page.
You could say I have a lot of friends. But there are very few who make a impact on me and make me who I am. These people make me who I am. They make me a better person. Chris- Chris has been my best friend for almost 2 years now. He has always been here for me. I couldn't ask for a better friend then him. What I like about us, is that we have the same sense of humor, and he can make me laugh.:). He is so special to me. You're the best baby! Craig- Now Craig has been a friend who has been here for me no matter what. I have been through a lot and he has been there to tell me everything will be okay. He has faith in me. He can make me laugh, he can make me cry. When I first met him I knew he was a person I'd always remember. He has been there when I thought my life wasn't going to get better. When I thought I might as well die, he was there. I thank you so much for that. I know we will always be friends. Ryan- I have never met a person like Ryan. Ryan and I are alike in everyway possible, it is scary. But it's weird, we've had such different ways of being raised. I feel such a incredible bond and connection with him. Tommy- Tommy and I have been friends for 9 years. Since kindergarten. We've grown up together. Since days in the sandbox. He was my first friend I made on my first day of kindergarten. We've grown a lot since then though. Like I don't have the major crush on him like I did.:). We live in different states now. But thanks to the internet we're able to talk a lot. Tommy is a great friend to have. He is loyal and intelligant among with other great qualities. Brian- I save the best for last. Brian is more then a friend. He has opened so many doors for me. We have a lot in commen. I love him with all my heart. He makes me a better person. Most of all, when I'm around him I feel like my old self. Before last summer when everything changed. I like my old self. it's a better person then I was before. Those are my boys.:). I love them all.:) Friends
About yours Truely Well there isn't much more to say. One of my dreams is to go to the taj Mahal. Before I die I'm going there. For those of you who don't know what the Taj Mahal I'll properly inform you. Agra, once the capital of the Mughal Empire during the 16th and early 18th centuries,is two and a half hours by express train from New Delhi. Tourists from all over the world visit Agra not to see the ruins of the red sandstone fortress built by the Mughal emperors but to make a pilgrimage to Taj Mahal, India?s most famous architectural wonder, in a land where magnificent temples and edificies abound to remind visitors about the rich civilization of a country that is slowly but surely lifting itself into an industrialized society. The postcard picture of Taj Mahal does not adequately convey the legend, the poetry and the romance that shroud what Rabindranath Tagore calls "a teardrop on the cheek of time". Taj Mahal means "Crown Palace" and is in fact the most well preserved and architecturally beautiful tomb in the world. It is best described by the English poet, Sir Edwin Arnold, as "Not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passions of an emperor?s love wrought in living stones." It is a celebration of woman built in marble and that?s the way to appreciate it. Taj Mahal stands on the bank of River Yamuna, which otherwise serves as a wide moat defending the Great Red Fort of Agra, the center of the Mughal emperors until they moved their capital to Delhi in 1637. It was built by the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan in 1631 in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, a Muslim Persian princess. She died while accompanying her husband in Burhanpur in a campaign to crush a rebellion after giving birth to their 14th child. The death so crushed the emperor that all his hair and beard were said to have grown snow white in a few months. When Mumtaz Mahal was still alive, she extracted four promises from the emperor: first, that he build the Taj; second, that he should marry again; third, that he be kind to their children; and fourth, that he visit the tomb on her death anniversary. He kept the first and second promises. Construction began in 1631 and was completed in 22 years. Twenty thousand people were deployed to work on it. It was designed by the Iranian architect Istad Usa and it is best appreciated when the architecture and its adornments are linked to the passion that inspired it. It is a "symbol of eternal love". The Taj rises on a high red sandstone base topped by a huge white marble terrace on which rests the famous dome flanked by four tapering minarets. Within the dome lies the jewel-inlaid cenotaph of the queen. So exquisite is the workmanship that the Taj has been described as "having been designed by giants and finished by jewellers". The only asymmetrical object in the Taj is the casket of the emperor which was built beside the queen?s as an afterthought. The emperor was deposed by his son and imprisoned in the Great Red Fort for eight years but was buried in the Taj. During his imprisonment, he had a view of the Taj. As a tribute to a beautiful woman and as a monument for enduring love, the Taj reveals its subtleties when one visits it without being in a hurry. The rectangular base of Taj is in itself symbolic of the different sides from which to view a beautiful woman. The main gate is like a veil to a woman?s face which should be lifted delicately, gently and without haste on the wedding night. In indian tradition the veil is lifted gently to reveal the beauty of the bride. As one stands inside the main gate of Taj, his eyes are directed to an arch which frames the Taj. The dome is made of white marble, but the tomb is set against the plain across the river and it is this background that works its magic of colours that, through their reflection, change the view of the Taj. The colours change at different hours of the day and during different seasons. Like a jewel, the Taj sparkles in moonlight when the semi-precious stones inlaid into the white marble on the main mausoleum catch the glow of the moon. The Taj is pinkish in the morning, milky white in the evening and golden when the moon shines. These changes, they say, depict the different moods of woman. Different people have different views of the Taj but it would be enough to say that the Taj has a life of its own that leaps out of marble, provided you understand that it is a monument of love. As an architectural masterpiece, nothing could be added or substracted from it.
